HI
This is not at all relevant to your post but I wanted to say that I have been unable to read as you requested because my PC died.
I'm on an old one but it is too slow to use comfortably for any length of time and I cannot post/read/comment for too long at work either.
I'll try to catch up when I manage to get a replacement. more…

I don't know how many miles exactly it is from where we live, but it is a million miles away from our way of living up here in the north of Europe. 200 years ago those people were less dependent on the help of others than they are now. 200 years ago slavery, apparently, was abolished. What infact happened was, 200 years ago the politicians informed more…

And the words of the next guillotine victim (an ancestor of George Costanza of Seinfeld fame) as he saw Jeanne Becu being guillotined were, "That's gotta hurt!".

I too look forward to the new Age of Sail. And I look forward to someday running into that famous ghost ship The Flying Dutchman thereby proving the existence of ghosts and catching a glimpse of a sailing vessel from the magnificent old Age of Sail all in one blow.

I wonder if Tut had the chance to sing that Saturday Night Fever song, "Burn, baby, burn, disco inferno..." as Nefertiti went up in smoke and down in ashes.
Any Bedouins stopping by the scene might advise Tut to give up smoking cigarettes when they saw all that ash. more…

1994 was a great year for South Africa. And Nelson Mandela was a great leader.
Many of us in the West- particularly the UK, the US and Canada don't know what it's like to live in a totalitarian society (although George W. Bush is trying to do his best to give the American people that feeling) and so forget just how precious the right to write more…

Glad to see you found a "home" away from "home".
Apparently Tuesday is D-Day for the return of our "favorite"(?) place to be. However, in the event of this not happening, I have done a mirror blog on Blogdrive.
Take a look, it seems to have the functionality that is needed.
